I love how well my watercolor and foiled leaves from the Lustrous Leaves Dies go with the Autumn Opulence DSP. A match made in crafty heaven!
I started the cards I'm going to be sharing this week by smooshing a watercolor background on a 4-1/4" X 5-1/2" piece of vanilla cardstock. I took my Golden Glow, Pretty Peacock and Blackberry ink pads and tapped them onto the huge "F" acrylic block. Then I sprayed the block with water and tipped the block to let the colors mix a little. Not a lot. I didn't want the colors to become mud. Then, I took a piece of 4-1/4" X 5-1/2" Very Vanilla Cardstock and layed it over the ink and let it soak it up. I am impatient, so I used a heat tool to dry it.
After the watercolor cardstock was dry, I used the Lustrous Leaves Hot Foil Dies, Copper Stampin' Foil and the Stampin' Hot Foil System to make copper watercolor leaves. I was then left with a piece of copper foil that had leaf images in it, so I applied that to a piece of vanilla cardstock with the Reverse Foil Die so that I could have both the positive and the negative copper leaf images and not waste the beautiful foil.
For this card, I cut a 3-7/8" X 5-1/8" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and embossed the bottom right corner with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder for the card front. I cut another piece of Very Vanilla the same size for the inside of the card. I mounted each of these pieces to a 4" X 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Then, I cut a 4" X 4" piece of the floral pattern and cut it in half diagonally. I used one half on the front of the card and cut the other half down a little and added it to the inside of the card. I added two strips of coordinating DSP to the front as a decorative border and one to the inside.
After that, the fun part started. I stamped and die cut my sentiment, made a pleasing arrangement of pretty fall leaves and adhered all this as shown on the card front. Then I tied a nice bow with some embroidery floss and used a glue dot to add it to my arrangement Finally, I embellished with some pretty copper gems.
