Merry Whimsical Woodland

I really liked the colors on the Christmas card I posted last week, so I decided to use them again. I've had the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder for years and hardly used it at all. I think it is so cute and makes really easy but pretty Christmas cards. Check out today's post on my blog (link in comments) for measurements and more details on this card.

I used the Lost Lagoon Two-Tone cardstock so that I could use a fine grit nail file to scratch the surface of the paper off and expose the white core. I love this technique and the two-tone cardstock makes it so easy. I'm so happy Stampin' Up! decided to start carrying that.

Hello Sunflower Friend

This is probably my favorite fun fold of all time. I think it just really packs a punch without a lot of effort. 🤣 Nothing is worse than making a cool card with lots of complicated cuts and folds and finding out you did it wrong and can't really fix it. This fold has some pretty easy measurements to follow, so that doesn't usually happen for me.

Supplies

Cardstock:

Pecan Pie: 4-1/4" X 11", scored at 5-1/2" on the long side

2-3/4" X 4-1/4"cut off of one end of the card base--save it for the front panel

3-1/4" X 4-3/4" for inside panel

Very Vanilla: 3-5/8" X 2-1/4" for focal point die cut, 3" X 4-1/2" for inside panel, plus whatever you need for stamping your focal point floral images

Sunflower Fun Fold

This is an easy fun fold and simple, quick design to make. But it still packs a wow factor for the recipient because of the unique fold. I haven't made this offset gate fold card design for a long time. I forgot how much I love it.

If you love the Spotlight on Nature circle dies (and who doesn't?!), you're going to love the new Tile Garden Dies. They are like the square version--same designs.

For today's card I used the DSP for the background and the focal element. I fussy cut that large sunflower out of one of the sheets in the paper pack. I love having that option, especially when you can't or don't want to buy the coordinating stamps and dies.

Appreciative Sunflowers

When I saw this Sunflower Fields DSP, I fell in love. I may or may not have a DSP hoarding issue that leans heavily autumn & Christmas. 😉 I was able to resist the bundle that goes with it though because I had the perfect one in my stash. I combined this DSP with the retired Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle and I'm delighted with how well they went together. If you don't have a great sunflowers bundle though, the Radiant Sunflowers is a really good one to pick up this season.

These cute witchies are from the retired Best Witches stamp set.

I'm afraid can't give dimensions for these cards because I used the SheetLoad of Cards template from Call Me Crafty Al on YouTube. This is the August 2023 template and she only made it publicly available for August of this year only as it is part of her vault now (past sketches). But she posts new sketches each month that I believe are available for a year (?) before being archived to the vault. And if you sign up for a membership to her channel, which is really a very reasonable cost, then you get access to all of her past templates.

I also really don't have much information on the patterned paper I used either. Sorry! I think I purchased both of these from JoAnn, so that's not real helpful either. I'm sure you can find something in your stash or for purchase that would work though. They aren't super unusual patterns.

 I combined new/current and retired product for this cute spider Halloween card.

I used all retired product for this card. I drew the pumpkin face 🎃. I think as demonstrators we always feel like we have to show things that are available for purchase, which makes sense because we want people to order, right? And we don't want people being disappointed that they can't get these things anymore. But, I also want to show people some projects I'm making with my retired stuff that they might also have. Or sometimes current and retired together. And, sometimes, you can find ways to use what you have or buy something similar to what I've used and make something close.

Cardstock:

Basic White Thick: Card Base 5-1/2" X 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" and folded in half on the score line

Basic Black: 4" X 5-1/4" to die cut with the trees die (retired)

Pumpkin Pie: 3" X 1-1/4" to die cut pumpkins, you could stamp and die cut your sentiment with this color too, but I used blends to color a piece of basic white for my sentiment.

Artistic Blooms (retired): 5" X 3-3/4" (This is the background color. You could achieve this by blending a background with ink as well.)

Black Glitter Cardstock from Hobby Lobby: 3/4" X 1-1/2" to punch bat and 1-1/8" X 1-3/8" to back the pumpkin star cuts. This is quite thick, more like chipboard, so I had to split the backing off of the back to make it thin enough to punch.
